Formula to find the Part of Fortune, in a chart.
The Part of Fortune is calculated differently depending on whether the chart is a day chart (the Sun is above the horizon) or a night chart (the Sun is below the horizon):
Day Chart (Diurnal Chart): Part of Fortune=Ascendant+Moon−Sun\text{Part of Fortune} = \text{Ascendant} + \text{Moon} – \text{Sun}Part of Fortune=Ascendant+Moon−Sun
Night Chart (Nocturnal Chart): Part of Fortune=Ascendant+Sun−Moon\text{Part of Fortune} = \text{Ascendant} + \text{Sun} – \text{Moon}Part of Fortune=Ascendant+Sun−Moon
